People of the Paper

Sleeping in my bed tonight
Awakened by an awful fright
My neck is being bit off by a turtle
Confusion as the masses fall
Running for my life but all
Futility of living in despair
Descend down to the pit of the staircase
And step on butcher paper
I see my body hang in this place
And I wake up moments later
Being swooped down from the sky
A seeping death wafts from on high
Destruction comes floating in the air
Feeling that our doom is nigh
The darkest purple in the sky
It kinda sorta looks just like a yin-yang
One day I awoke, I was billowing smoke
Fire glowed, ash streaked the sky
Months of despair, wings stretched up high
And I flew away from you
I fly high to the top of the sky
And I tear through all the paper
Staring straight at the face of god
And I see she has a mustache
Sneaking into realms forsaken
Am I asleep or am I waking up
To seeing bodies hanging, bleeding
Wondering if I've gone too far
Ahead I see a door ajar
The light, it flickers answers I've been needing

Alfie's so creative, he's so creative
He likes to think, he thinks outside the box
He poops outside the box
I wish I was creative and intelligent, imaginative as he
I wish I was productive and beligerent, and intuitive as he

Platypus Egg San Diego, California
Platypus Egg began back in 2008. United by their fascination with experimental music, they began to explore a way to make music that could bridge all their tastes. Their sound slowly morphed from jarring, and at times uncomfortable to a coherent, vulnerable voice. Fans usually say "You won't get it by just listening to one song. Once you hear 8 or 10, that's when it starts to make sense" ... more
